Budget Billing Enrollment Is Now Open
|
CVEA's Budget Billing program is a free service that helps residential and small commercial members manage cash flow by providing a predictable monthly energy bill.
The program is designed to minimize large fluctuations in energy bills from season to season (it is not a cost-savings or discount program). The monthly bill is based on an average of the member's previous 12 months' usage, but it may be adjusted for changes in rates or a change in usage.
Enrollment in the program is annually in April and May.

Copper Valley Electric Goes to School
An annual highlight for CVEA staff is visiting local middle school and home school groups to discuss electrical generation and safety with students.
Following an engaging classroom presentation with generator, hydroelectricity, and safety demonstrations, students are invited to tour one of CVEA's five power plants for an up-close view of what goes on behind the switch.
Over 100 local students take part in this educational program each year. CVEA enjoys these classroom visits and hosting tours that show off the Cooperative's incredible assets to the next generation of members.

Energy Efficiency and Safety Tips
Spring Clean Your Way To Greater Efficiency
Washing windows and screens is a great way to practice energy efficiency during spring cleaning. Clean windows and screens make your home brighter by allowing more sunlight in, reducing the need for lamps and fixtures. Clean screens also allow more fresh air in the home when the windows are open to recycle indoor air.
Natural light and clean air are energy savers, and they enhance overall health and productivity.

Stay Protected From Power Surges
Aside from unplugging devices when you suspect a power surge, you can take additional precautions to protect electronics in your home.
Point-of-use surge protection devices, like power strips, can protect electronics during most surges. But remember, not all power strips include surge protection, so read the packaging label carefully before you buy, and don't overload the power strip with too many devices.
You can also install specialized electrical outlets that offer additional surge protection. Talk to a trusted electrician to learn more.
Read more below or visit the Electrical Safety Foundation for more information on surge protection.
